MUMBAI, March 22

NIIT Ltd has announced the launch of its enterprise knowledge solutions (EKS) suite of services aimed at corporate houses across the world.

The suite has been developed using the technical expertise of Click2learn, a provider of enterprise learning platforms, whose custom development business NIIT recently acquired. Click2learn's Aspen Enterprise Learning technology platform will be used by NIIT when offering EKS.

EKS is a customised and comprehensive technology, content and services package, enabling organisations to maximise employee productivity and improve business results.

In addition to conventional learning applications, EKS addresses areas such as product launch, process dissemination,<170> product support and induction. A recent IDC report had projected US corporate spending on online training and education to grow at a CAGR of 51 per cent to touch $18.23 billion by 2005, said Mr Rajendra S. Pawar, Chairman, NIIT.

``For NIIT in particular, we expect the EKS business to generate revenues of $30 million in the next three years. Of this, 10-15 per cent would be from India,'' said Mr Pawar. Insurance, banking, technology and pharmaceutical sectors are being targeted as prime candidates for EKS.

``With this alliance we gain a strategic partner for our custom development business and a global reseller for Aspen, while NIIT gains a significant competitive edge in their solutions offering,'' said Mr Sudheer Koneru, Executive Vice-President, Click2learn, USA.
