Chemical sector task force report today

NEW DELHI, March 22

THE Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers, Mr S.S. Dhindsa, will receive the report of the task force on chemical industry in Mumbai on Saturday. The chairman of the 10-member task force is Dr A.S. Ganguly, Secretary, Chemicals and Petrochemicals.

The task force was set up in July 2001 to assess the present status of the Indian chemical industry with a view to recommending policy initiatives for enhancing its competitiveness and growth.

While preparing the report, the task force focussed on all segments of the chemical industry, excluding pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals and fertilisers.
