German firms may invest in Technopark

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, March 22

TWO leading software companies in Germany are keen on investing in Technopark, the electronics and technology hub here, promoted by the State Government.

This was the outcome of discussions between a delegation led by the State Industries Minister, Mr P. K. Kunhalikkutty, and Bitkom, the conglomeration of information, communication and technology companies in Germany.

The delegation is trying to sell Kerala as a prospective destination for investments in IT. The State Government and Bitkom are expected sign a memorandum of understanding in this connection, according to a Government spokesman here.

Following a detailed presentation, representatives of a number of leading companies such as Deutsche Telekom, Dresdner Bank, Boehrer Infotech, Siemens and Navision held discussions with the Kerala delegation separately.
