Rice bran oil launched

MUMBAI: Punjab-based A.P. Solvex Ltd has launched rice bran oil under the brand name Ricela.

Ricela is being positioned as a cooking medium with micronutrient oryzanol, which is reportedly known to raise good cholesterol and reducing bad cholesterol. Currently, the industry processes about 35 lakh tonnes of rice bran producing about 6 lakh tonnes of rice bran oil. India is the second largest producer of rice next to China.
