NIIT to offer training to legislators

BANGALORE, Dec. 2

LEGISLATORS in Karnataka will soon attend classes to learn computer operation.

NIIT, the computer training and education company, has offered to undertake the task for the members of the both Houses of Legislature.

According to NIIT, the Chief Minister, Mr S.M. Krishna has agreed to consider the offer and directed the company to interact with the Speaker and Chairman of the Assembly and Council respectively. The training is likely to commence from the next session of the Legislature.

The information was given by NIIT when its representative met the Chief Minister here today as part of the observance of the World Computer Literacy Day.

This year a host of corporates houses, including AirTel, the mobile service provider, Webdunia and the CyberMedia group joined hands with NIIT to spread computer literacy.
