NEW DELHI, Dec. 2

THE Ministry of Food Processing Industries has proposed Rs 250 crore of the total Tenth Plan outlay of Rs 650 crore to be earmarked for schemes of infrastructural development, including the setting up of food parks.

This was stated by the Minister of State of Food Processing Industries, Mr N.T. Shanmugam, in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.

According to an official communiqué issued here on Monday, the Minister said his Ministry has been monitoring the implementation of Food Parks Scheme.

A decision has been taken to recall funds allocated to two implementing agencies on account of the inability to contribute an equal share and no progress on the ground in the first case, and the other where the implementing agency recommended setting up the food park in a location which was not approved.
