AirTel unveils local direct dialling

KOCHI, Dec. 30

BHARTI Cellular Ltd has introduced AirTel Local Direct Dialling (LDD) for subscribers in Kerala.

The calls made through the LDD route enable subscribers to make substantial savings on their call rates as compared to regular STD/ISD rates, Mr T. Elango, Chief Operating Officer, said.

The introduction of LDD in the State is a technological breakthrough by which calls made to a roaming subscriber visiting Kerala are routed directly to the mobile instead of travelling via the home network, thereby generating substantial savings to both the roaming subscriber and the caller, he added.

According to Mr Elango, LDD is available to all Kerala subscribers who can save up to 76 per cent on LDD calls, national in-roamers up to 80 per cent and international in roamers by 30 per cent.

To avail the benefits of this service, all the subscribers needed to do is key in the LDD code #0, followed by the country code and the mobile number.
