Dumping probe on copperclad laminates imports

K.R. Srivats

NEW DELHI, Dec. 30

INDIA has initiated an anti-dumping probe on all imports of copper clad laminates from China, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand.

Copper clad laminates are laminates of paper and glass fabric of a kind and are used in the manufacture of printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Gujarat Perstorp Electronics Ltd (GPEL) had filed the petition seeking anti-dumping probe on imports of copper clad laminates from these seven countries.

Apollo Tyres Ltd is a main promoter of GPEL.

Industry sources said that Bakelite Hylam, Hyderabad, and PCS Industries, Pune, had supported the petition even though these two companies had stopped production of copper clad laminates in the period of investigation (January 1 - September 30, 2002).
