Gestetner board okays revamp plan for Nasik plant

MUMBAI, Dec. 30

THE board of directors of Gestetner India Ltd has accorded permission to the company's Managing Director to take any measure for restructuring, including closure of manufacturing operations at Nasik.

The restructuring process is expected to improve the company's operational efficiency.

The company is into the manufacture of stencil duplicating machines, copy printers and digital photocopiers.

Earlier, Gestetner was a 51-per cent subsidiary of the holding company Gestetner UK Plc. Thereafter, when Ricoh acquired a controlling stake in Gestetner in a worldwide deal, the Indian arm became a part of the Ricoh group.
