Boost for jute exports

Our Bureau

JUTE goods export through the Kolkata dock system is all set to receive a big boost. According to a estimate, the export is likely to double over the present level of 300-350 TEUs per month.

This is partly because of the export order received by a Kolkata-based jute goods exporter from a West Asian country. Inquiries reveal that exports worth about 2,000 TEUs will have to be executed soon. More important, Kolkata port authorities have decided to offer volume discount on the jute goods export — that is, if the volume of export containers increases, the rate will progressively decline.
