Anti-poor Budget

The recent Budget announced by the Finance Minister, Mr Jaswant Singh, is not in the common-man's interest. Only the luxury items have become cheaper, while the essential commodities are becoming expensive.

Further, the cut in the interest rate on small savings is a setback to the common man. The Centre can tax the richer classes to augment its revenues, but should not impose more taxes on the common man.
