HYDERABAD, March 6

HARDSELLING Andhra Pradesh as an investment destination, the Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, urged the delegation from Germany headed by its President, Mr Johannes Rau, to facilitate the launch of commercial air services between Frankfurt and Hyderabad and also hike the cap on green card facility for IT professionals.

The launch of new services will be mutually beneficial as there is "great untapped business potential between the two countries, " he said.

Speaking at a banquet organised here yesterday to honour the German head of State, Mr Naidu said while several airliners are knocking at the doors of Andhra Pradesh to launch their services, Lufthansa has also expressed its keenness to commission its services to Hyderabad.

With the greenfield international airport coming up near Hyderabad, this will provide a win-win situation for both Germany and India.

With a global standard expo centre coming up at Hyderabad and host of international events lined up here by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, there will be huge opportunity for growth.
