MADURAI, March 7
THE Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while welcoming the decision of Jet Airways to reintroduce the morning flight in Chennai-Madurai-Chennai sector from April 14, has appealed for early departure timing from Madurai.
Mr S. Rethinavelu, President of the Chamber, in a statement has said that the decision will help industrial and tourism development of southern districts.
He has said that as per schedule the return trip from Madurai would start at around 9.00 a.m. and reach Chennai at 10.20 a.m. Instead, if the departure is advanced by an hour, the passengers will reach Chennai by 9.20 a.m., facilitating them to get connection at Chennai airport for Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Flower merchants would also benefit by the service.
Resumption of the morning service along with the existing evening service in Chennai-Madurai-Chennai section will enable the passengers to return back to Madurai on the same day after completing their engagements at Chennai, he said.
