ISB students get 70% of job offers midway

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD, March 7

ABOUT 110 students of the Indian School of Business (ISB) have received 150 job offers so far, thereby achieving about 70 per cent placement midway through the rolling placement process.

The rolling placement process continues and will be completed by mid-April.

The class of 2003 in ISB has 169 students and of these 155 students are participating in the placement process, while the remaining 14 will be joining business houses that they initially came from, according to an ISB communiqué.

Professor Vijay Mahajan, Dean, ISB, in a statement said: "We are proud of our achievements in our first year of operations. We successfully introduced the concept of lateral hiring to Indian companies and achieved excellent placement results for the founding class of 2002. This year is quite challenging as well and I am confident that we will offer the best to our students and the companies that recruit at ISB."

The ISB rolling placement is designed to augment lateral hiring into companies and placement initiatives are spread over several months from January through April, during which time companies visit the campus and meet students.

Over 60 companies visited the ISB campus in Cycle I including job offers from AstraZeneca, BCG, Citibank, Coca Cola, Cognizant Technology Solutions, GECIS, Godrej Industries, Hindustan Lever, HSBC, ICICI Bank, I-Gate, Infosys, ITC, McKinsey and Co, Microsoft, Novartis, Reliance, Satyam and TCS.

The second cycle had companies like Deloitte Consulting, Deutsche Bank, General Motors, Goldman Sachs, Patni Computers, Wockhardt and many others. The rolling placement is recruiter friendly and helps companies to make well-considered decisions in selecting middle-level and senior managers, according to ISB.
