MUMBAI, March 14

LIFESTYLE International, part of the $600-million Landmark Group, is planning to invest Rs 84 crore in setting up seven more stores in India over the next three years.

Commencing its operations in 1998, the company has already invested Rs 80 crore in India and has stores in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Haryana.

Making a foray into the western region, the company opened its fifth store in Mulund today at a 47,500 sq ft. area and two more stores are slated to open at Lower Parel and Malad later this year.

At a press conference, Mr H. Ramanathan, Director, Landmark Gulf Group, said, "We believe Mulund has got an initial mass to make an entry into the Mumbai market. There are customers in this region who have the need of a department store in their suburb."

There are also plans of developing its in-store labels such as Juniors and Home Classics into stand-alone brands. Added Mr Ramanathan, "Since Juniors, as a label, cuts across all categories of kidswear, we might look at Junior Stores in future."

Sporting a new baseline, `Don't blend in' devised by its agency JWT Chennai, the company has allocated an ad budget of Rs 3.5 crore this year.
