GE Shipping expands board

MUMBAI: GE Shipping, the largest private shipping company in the country, has inducted two more members on the board. With this the board strength has increased to 11, including six independent directors.

The board has approved the appointment of Mr Keki Mistry, Managing Director, HDFC, and Mr Cyrus Guzder, Chairman and Managing Director, AFL Pvt Ltd, as directors.

While Mr Mistry had been inducted to fill the vacancy arising due to the demise of Mr K.P. Byramjee, Mr Guzdur joined the board as additional director, said a press release.

Declares interim on pref. shares: GE Shipping has informed the BSE that its board of directors meeting held on Friday declared an interim dividend of 10.5 per cent on 7,50,00,000, 10.5 per cent Cumulative Redeemable Non-Convertible Preference Shares of Rs 10 each aggregating Rs 75 crore for the financial year 2002-2003. The interim dividend amounting to Rs 7,87,50,000 will be paid to those preference shareholders whose names appear on the register as on March 26.
