Information Technology BoI to launch mobile banking in Hyderabad Our Bureau
HYDERABAD, March 20 FOLLOWING the success of its mobile ATM (automated teller machine) banking pilot project in Mumbai, Bank of India (BoI) now plans to introduce mobile banking services in Hyderabad shortly. In a press release here on Thursday, the bank said InfraSoft Technologies was providing the required software solutions for the wireless ATM network to be deployed in these mobile banking projects. The mobile ATM would be connected to the bank's branch network through a wireless medium and validate account balances online before committing any transaction. Customers using mobile ATMs can also hold accounts in any of the 275 branches that were currently connected to the multi-branch banking (MBB) network of the bank. According to BoI, the Swadhan ATM cardholders would also be able to use the mobile ATM facility soon. Further, the bank plans to expand its MBB network to another 450 branches across the country to include second tier-towns. With online ATMs across the country and other mobile services, the BoI aims at facilitating the customers from the comfort of their homes and offices, the release said.
