500 more cos asked to provide data electronically

MUMBAI, March 20

THE Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has added 500 more companies to the list of companies that are required to file documents and statements in electronic format with the market regulator.

These companies were selected on the basis of market capitalisation and turnover and would be required to upload all the statements/information on the EDIFAR Web site with effect from quarter ending March 30, 2003.

Further, any new company that gets listed in the exchanges shall be required to upload financial statements/documents on-line in the EDIFAR Web site, according to SEBI.
