NEW DELHI, March 20
MR Milen Keremedchiev, Deputy Minister of Economy, Republic of Bulgaria, on Thursday sought better economic cooperation with India.
Speaking at a business forum, organised by the FICCI, he highlighted Bulgaria's competitive edge because of its strategic geographical location, liberalised market access and stability in currency among others.
Lamenting the present low level of Indo-Bulgarian trade of just $20 million, the Minister indicated the need to improve bilateral trade and investment for mutually beneficial economic cooperation. He further, highlighted the incentives that foreign investors would receive from Bulgaria.
He also said that Bulgaria had adopted the International Accounting Standards and it had the lowest burden of taxes in Europe.
He also identified India's strengths in chemicals, metallurgy, electronics and IT, car manufacturing, food processing, and cinema where joint ventures can prosper.
