Long distance tariffs of BSNL valid till March

Our Bureau

COIMBATORE, March 26

THE much-hyped cut in the long distance telephony rates announced by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) appears to be an offer for a `limited' period only.

The offer (STD tariff cut on inter-circle and intra-circle calls for distance beyond 500 km) would be valid only up to March 31.

BSNL, in early March, announced that it had decided to reduce the STD call charges in respect of inter-circle and intra-circle calls of more than 500 km.. It was not apparent then, that the proposed cut was a time-bound offer, for the announcement was not explicit. More reports on Page 9
