Tourism plan for Thommankuthu

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A high-level meeting of officials convened here by the Minister for Tourism and Fisheries, Prof K.V. Thomas, has decided to draw up a tourism master plan for the scenic spot of Thommankuthu in Idukki district.

The meeting entrusted Mr K. G. Mohanlal, Director, Eco Tourism, with the task of drawing up the plan. It provides for setting up an information centre, bathing ghats, bird-watching centres, medicinal plant gardens, promenades and boating facilities. The roads leading from Meenuliyampara and Elaveezhapunchira to Thommankuthu would also be developed as part of the plan.
