Kerala introduces one-time settlement in co-op sector

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The one-time settlement scheme introduced in the State for recovery of dues outstanding to credit cooperative societies under the control of the State Cooperative Department has been made more attractive though the incorporation of additional concessions.

These incentives can be availed by those who are willing to pay up 10 per cent of the outstanding dues before March 31. As per the new guidelines, those who are unable to pay up the balance amount before the prescribed date due to demonstrably valid and specific reasons would be allowed to do it in maximum 10 instalments after March 31. An application to this effect should be forwarded to the Joint Registrar, Cooperatives (General), a notification from the Registrar, Cooperatives, said.
