Airlines More Emirates flights from Kochi to Dubai Our Bureau
KOCHI, April 14 IN a few days, air travellers between Kochi and Dubai will benefit from five Emirates flights a week, up from the current three. Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, has announced that the added flights will start on April 19 on Saturdays and Sundays. Under the new schedule, Emirates will fly non-stop between Dubai and Kochi every day except Tuesdays and Thursdays. The airline will operate an Airbus A 330-200 aircraft on the route with a three cabin service offering 18 first class, 42 business class and 183 economy class seats, a release issued here said. Every Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, Emirates Flight EK530 will depart from Dubai at 0350 hours arriving in Kochi at 0905 hours. The return flight EK531 will leave Kochi later in the morning at 1020 hours touching down in Dubai at 1245 hours. Since Saturday and Sunday are weekends in India, the new flights are expected to carry heavy passenger loads, the release said. In addition to these regular flights, Emirates will operate also two extra flights, one on April 16 - a Boeing 777-200 aircraft and the second on April 18 - A330 aircraft from Kochi to Dubai. These two flights will depart from Cochin International Airport at 1645 hours and touch down in Dubai at 1910 hours. Mr Nabil Sultan, Emirates General Manager for India and Nepal, said that in the four months since its inception, the company has received excellent response from Kochi passengers. "We will continue to develop our India network to support customer demand and provide our passengers with the services they require." The new flights are expected to cater to the strong demand for seats on the Kochi-Dubai sector as well as bring in tourism and business revenues for the State. Emirates currently flies to five destinations in the country. With the inclusion of the new additional Kochi-Dubai services, the total number of Emirates Flights from the country to Dubai will be 42 per week, he added.
