New Products & Services Aurobindo joint venture launches new product Our Bureau
HYDERABAD, April 19 PHARMACEUTICAL major Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (APL), has announced here that its joint venture with Citadel - Citadel Aurobindo Bitoech Ltd - has launched a new product — Aztreonam, a monobactam betalactum antibiotic, for the first time in the Indian pharmaceutical market. Branded as `Treonam', the drug is claimed to be highly useful for the treatment of infections due to gram negative aerobes including pseudomonas aeruginosa, a highly difficult to treat pathogen. According to Aurobindo Pharma, the drug is a useful antibiotic in hospital and ICU setting for infections such as pyelonephritis, septicaemia, pneumonia, post-operative wounds and burns, intra-abdominal infections, gynaecological infections and surgery.
