NEW DELHI, May 10

TO broaden engagement with the British Political leadership, a delegation from the Indo-British Parliamentary Forum (IBPF) led by its Chairman, Mr Praful Patel, and co-chairman, Ms Renuka Chowdhury, is scheduled to leave for Britain on Sunday.

A delegation of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) led by its President, Mr A.C. Muthiah, will accompany the IBPF team.

The Parliamentary delegation, with members from across the Indian political spectrum, will hold intensive dialogue and consultations with their British counterpart on subjects as varied as counter terrorism, post Iraq situation, trade and investment, science and technology, and information technology.

The objective is to further strengthen and consolidate the potential that exist between the two countries. India's initiative in beginning a peaceful dialogue with Pakistan is expected to crop up prominently during the Parliamentarians' visit.

The forum, which was recently launched by Mr Yashwant Sinha, Minister of External Affairs, and is supported by FICCI, seeks to add parliamentary dimension to the list of economic, political, and trade bi-literalism between the two countries.
