netGuru Inc India units post 40 pc growth

KOLKATA, May 27

RESEARCH Engineers Ltd and netGuru India Pvt Ltd, outfits under the umbrella of netGuru Inc of the US, have achieved a cumulative growth of 40 per cent on their operations during the fiscal 2002-03. The companies are engaged in software development and digital media services, according to Mr Amrit K. Das, Chairman & CEO of netGuru Inc.

Interacting with newspersons here, Mr Das said netGuru Inc recorded a global turnover of Rs 140 crore in 2002-03, up from Rs 115 crore in 2001-02. In India, Research Engineers' software revenue went up to Rs 9 crore in 2002-03 from Rs 7 crore the previous year.

According to him, the group's flagship product, STAAD, emerged as premier software for structural analyses and design the world over. With a view to pushing the sales of STAAD, as also of other "upcoming" engineering products, Research Engineers has forged partnerships with Oracle, Data Access of the US, Sokkia of Japan and Tekla of Finland, among others.

Research Engineers has recently launched REI-HEADS, software for highway engineering and design. The software is stated to have found favour with the Union Ministry of Surface Transport and the National Highways Authority of India.
