Piaggio Aero, Tata Air tie up

Piaggio Aero Industries of Italy has appointed Tata Air to be the exclusive distributor of the P.180 Avanti II for India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Maldives and Mauritius. The two companies have announced this partnership here on Thursday at the India Aviation 2008 expo. Under the agreement, Taj Air would promote, distribute and service Piaggio Aero Aircraft in these countries. The Avanti II service centre would come up at the Taj Air's main facility at Mumbai, Mr Giuliano Felten, Piaggio Aero Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales), said here. The company would deliver two P.180 Avanti II aircraft in 2008 to Indian buyers. Apart from the pilot, it could carry nine passengers. - Our Bureau
