Credit expansion and CASA (current account savings account) mobilisation will be the focus areas for Karnataka Bank in the coming quarters.
Addressing the regional heads to review the performance of the bank during the first quarter, P Jayarama Bhat, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, said the augmentation of credit with an eye on asset quality would continue to be the focus area in the ensuing quarters of the financial year. The bank will also give thrust on effective monitoring of credit and increasing CASA deposits.
Stating that digital technologies are set to transform banking in the days ahead, he said through digital banking — supported by technology-based innovative banking products and services — it is possible to address customers’ need for new age banking in a better and cost-effective manner.
Mahabaleshwara MS, Chief General Manager, urged the regional heads to work harder to ensure that the current year’s business goals are achieved.
A press release by the bank said here that all the 12 regional heads from across the country, and the heads of the bank’s International Division (Mumbai) and data centre in Bengaluru attended the conference.
