Port Day celebrations at Paradip

Kolkata, Nov.2

Paradip Port Trust celebrated, on Monday, Port Day and Baita Bandana Utsav, according to a press release issued by PPT. Mr K Raghuramaiah, Chairman of PPT, while attending a function held on the occasion at the port’s wet basin, unfurled the port flag, performed the sacred kalas puja and handed over the kalasas to the employees of the port’s marine department. A traditionally decorated boat also set sail. He highlighted the achievements of the port in traffic handling and gave an account of various development activities being undertaken. Mr Biplav Kumar, Deputy Chairman, and Capt G.P. Biswal, Deputy Conservator, PPT, also spoke. Mr P.K. Nanda, Secretary, proposed a vote of thanks. — Our Bureau
