Wheat products strengthens

NEW DELHI: Wheat product prices rose up to Rs 25 per 50 kg on the wholesale grains market on Saturday on increased offtake by stockists and retailer to meet the on-going marriage season demand amid firming trend in wheat.

Traders said apart from firming trend in wheat, pick up in demand on account of marriage season also influenced wheat product prices. Atta flour mills rose by Rs 25 to Rs 790-800 per 50 kg while atta chakki delivery traded higher by Rs 20 to Rs 1,415 -1, 420 per 90 kg.

In tandem with general trend, maida and sooji traded Rs 15 each higher at Rs 855-865 and Rs 860-865 per 50 kg. Following were today's quotations in Rs per quintal: Wheat MP (deshi) 1,900-2,200, wheat dara (for mills) 1,450-1,457, chakki atta (delivery) 1 ,415-1,420, atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 170, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 180, Roller flour mill 790-800 (50 kg), Maida 855-865 (50 kilos) and Sooji 860- 865 (50 kg).

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 9,300, Shri Lal Mahal 9,200, Super basmati rice 9,000, Basmati common 7,000-7,100, rice Pusa-1121- 4,500-4,700, Permal raw 1,600-1,650, Permal wand 1,750-1850, Sela 2,400-2,450 and Rice IR-8- 1,425-1,475, Bajra 880-890, Jowar yel low 900-1000, white 1,350-1,450, Maize 1,050-1,060, Barley (UP) 820-860 and Rajasthan 1,080-1,090. - PTI
