Portal site for cable TV launched

MUMBAI, Feb. 25
THE Chairman of Zee Telefilms Ltd, Mr. Subhash Chandra, on Friday inaugurated Indiantelevision.com, a portal site which covers the cable, satellite and terrestrial television business in India. The portal is fully owned by Indiantelevision DotCom Pvt Ltd
.
``The portal aims to be the one-stop source for everything related to India's booming television industry which is estimated at Rs. 7,000 crores per annum,'' Mr. Anil Wanvari, CEO of the company, said.
The B2B section of the portal will provide information, news, technical help, professional listings, placements and a shopping area for products related to the television industry. This section is targeted at advertisers, media and marketing professional
s, television broadcasting and researchers, among others.
The B2C section, aimed at the general Internet user, will provide information and news related to TV, chats with TV stars, online contests and games. ``The key word is generation of feedback and e-commerce for the industry,'' said Mr. Wanvari.
The company will initially seek venture funding of Rs. 10 crores by off-loading a part of its equity to business partners may consider an IPO fund at later stage.
