Indiainfo.com acquires A&M Communications

MUMBAI, March 7

INDIAINFO.COM has announced its acquisition of A&M Communications Ltd, owners of Just Dial, in cash and stock deal.

Just Dial has 12,200 paying business customers who place listings in its database for a fee, and 5,00,000 business customers in all, said a news release from Indiainfo.com.

With this acquisition, Indiainfo would take the Just Dial database online, said the release.

Indiainfo would address the business-to-consumer segment of Just Dial's e-commerce operations through call centre operations. The call centres will also function as a help desk for Indiainfo.com surfers.

Just Dial's direct marketing sales force will operate in the business-to-business segment, said the release. Just Dial, it is claimed, has about 300 employees in its call centre and direct marketing operations of its business listings service; it receive d eight million calls per year from consumers and has 1.5 million callers.
