Pacific Internet jt venture with Hindujas, Thakrals

MUMBAI, March 7
INTERNET service provider Pacific Internet has tied up with In2Cable.com, a subsidiary of Hinduja Finance Corporation Ltd and Thakral Brothers Pvt Ltd (Singapore), to form a joint venture company, Pacific Internet India Pvt Ltd.
The new venture will provide broadband Internet access and other data services for the Indian subcontinent market.
According to a news release, Pacific Internet and Hinduja Finance will hold a 37 per cent stake each in the venture while the Thakrals will hold the remaining stake of 26 per cent.
Mr. M. Pillai, President, Pacific Internet India Pvt Ltd, said the agreement would give Pacific Internet, India, exclusive use of Hinduja's cable network. It would also use the Hinduja groups' information technology services, sales distribution networks
and fibre infrastructure.
Pacific Internet offers services such as Internet access and portal sites in five countries including India. Hinduja Finance provides Internet access through the cable networks of Hinduja group's IndusInd Media and Communications Ltd.
The third partner in the venture, Thakral Group, is engaged in the distribution and assembly of consumer electronic products, hotel management, real estate and consultancy services, the release said.
