Cross-border mergers, buys under new steel policy likely
THERE'S likely to be a lot of action in the steel industry over the next few months. The Government, as part of the new steel policy, is planning to bring in major policy changes to encourage cross-border mergers and acquisitions of steel companies keepi ng in mind the needs of the global economy. The changes would aim at encouraging foreign direct investment in the steel industry for mergers and acquisitions even when such merger and acquisitions involves some foreign company.
