MUMBAI, Aug. 3

UNIT Trust of India, during the first three days of the month, has received 15,824 repurchase requests covering 2.22 crore units of Unit Scheme-1964 (US-64).

UTI, in a written statement today, said that while some investors did enquire about the repurchase facility, the actual repurchase requests received at all the branches of UTI were for 2.22 crore units aggregating Rs 22.2 crore during the three days.

UTI reopened repurchases of US-64 on August 1. As earlier announced, US-64 unit holders can repurchase up to the specified limit of 3,000 units at a price of Rs 10 each during August 2001. The repurchase price would increase by ten paise every month till May 2003, UTI said.
