Nov. 5: Weak global cues coupled with selling pressure sees the BSE-Benchmark index losing 385.45 points. The Sensex, falls to an intraday low of 19502.45 (falling by over 500 points) before finally closing at 19590.78. Nov. 9: Stocks close in the red during Muhurat trading for the first time in seven years. The Bombay Stock Exchange launches BSE Power Index to track the performance of companies in the power and energy sector. The Securities and Exchange Board of India passes an order restraining Mr Ketan Parekh and 10 associates from accessing the securities market, and from buying selling or dealing in the market for another 10 years. Nov 14: Sensex registers its highest single-day gain of 893.58 points or 4.69 per cent, closing at 19,929.06. The S&P CNX Nifty gained 4.26 per cent, closing at 5,937.90. Nov 16: Kotak PSU Bank Exchange Traded Fund, an open ended exchange traded fund, slipped 9.77 per cent from its opening price on the first day of its trading on NSE. It opens at Rs 349.9 and closes at Rs 315.71. Nov 19: DLF Ltd sells 49 per cent stake in eight residential project SPVs to private equity investors for a total consideration of Rs 1,675 crore.
Nov 21: Weak global cues trigger a selling spree across Indian stocks, sending the BSE benchmark index crashing below the 19,000 mark down by 678 points. SEBI passes its first set of ‘Consent Orders’ against four market participants for infringement of specific provisions of the securities law. Nov. 27: The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority gives its nod for investments up to 5 per cent of the funds under the new pension system in stock markets and another 10 per cent in equity linked mutual funds. Nov. 29: A company eligible for a fast-track issue of shares must have an average market capitalisation of Rs 10,000 crore of public shareholding for a period of one year, says SEBI in its amendments to its disclosure and investment protection norms issued.
