Vadodara-based pharmaceutical player, Alembic Limited posted lower net profit for the second quarter ended September 2016, at Rs 22.61 crore, about 10 per cent down from Rs 25.21 crore in the same period last year.
Company's net sales for the quarter stood at Rs 45.6 crore as against Rs 38.8 crore in the same quarter last year.
For the half year period of the current fiscal, company's net profit stood at Rs 24 crore as against Rs 28 crore in the same period last year on net sales of Rs 73 crore as against Rs 74.6 crore reported last year.
Alembic shares fell by close to 4 per cent on National Stock Exchange (NSE) to close at Rs 37.35 on Friday.
