Consolidating its presence in luxury segment, German car maker BMW today rolled out its locally produced BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, priced at Rs 42.75 lakh.
“The all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo launched in Chennai at BMW exclusive dealership KUN Exclusive in city,” the company said in a statement.
The car is locally produced at the BMW Plant at Mahindra World City in Singaperumal Koil, near here.
“The all new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo will be available in a diesel variant (the BMW 320d Gran Turismo) at an all India ex-showroom price of Rs 42.75 lakh,” it said.
”...the all-new BMW 3Series Gran Turismo combines the sporty yet elegant character of a coupe with high functionality and versatile interior,” BMW Group India President Philipp von Sahr said.
The BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo is equipped with coupe-style roofline, frameless side windows and a flowing rear end with large load aperture.
Besides, it is also equipped with rear spoiler that is automatically deployed when the car travels at 110 kmph and retracted at speeds below 70 kmph, it said.
The vehicle is fitted with 2.0 litre BMW Twinpower turbo four cylinder diesel engine combing common rail direct injection and can travel 0 to 100kmph in 7.9 seconds. The top speed is 226 kmph, it said.
