Battery major Exide Industries today posted a 16.92 per cent rise in net profit at ₹ 181.32 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2016.
The company had posted a net profit of ₹ 155.08 crore for the same period of previous fiscal.
Net sales went up by 10.64 per cent to ₹ 2,174.55 crore for the quarter, as against ₹1,965.39 crore during the same period of 2015—16.
The company’s board, which met today, has declared interim dividend of ₹1.60 per equity share of ₹ 1 each for the financial year 2016—17.
Exide Industries stock closed at ₹ 202.10, down 0.66 per cent, on the BSE.
