Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), managed by Accor Group, has received the award for excellence for “Best Standalone Convention Centre” for the year 2012-13 by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Vatti Vasant Kumar, Minister for Tourism Government of Andhra Pradesh, presented the award to Peter Frawley, General Manager Delegate, Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre and Hyderabad International Convention Centre.
According to a statement, the State Ministry of Tourism presented the award to recognise the contribution of various players in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry in the state on the occasion of World Tourism Day.
Peter Frawley said, “With the growing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions) tourism sector in India, HICC has established itself as the preferred ‘convention destination’ in India and this award will further strengthen our efforts to position Hyderabad as the convention capital of India.”
