Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) has posted net profit of ₹144.27 crore for the quarter ended September, up 42 per cent from ₹101.67 crore in the corresponding period last year. The profit has been due to higher sales volumes/net realisations, reduction in interest cost and higher other income. Total gross sales during the quarter grew marginally to ₹1,067 crore. “The increase in sales turnover during the quarter has been marginal due to reduction in selling prices of both CNG and PNG during the year in view of lower gas cost,” it said in a statement. These are standalone results for IGL only and do not include profits accruing from associate companies.
