In an effort to increase its focus on renewable energy consumption, ITC Ltd plans to add another 48 mega watt wind power generation capacity soon. This will entail an estimated investment of Rs 300 crore.
According to Pradeep Dhobale, Executive Director, ITC Ltd, currently about 40 per cent of the energy consumed by ITC comes from renewable sources and the company’s windmills are located “mostly in Tamil Nadu”.
“We are planning to set up windmills in Andhra Pradesh and add another 48 MW capacity. We will invest around Rs 300 crore for this. Currently, our capacity is 70 MW,” Dhobale told reporters here on Thursday on the sidelines of a conference on green building organised by CII.
