Kuldip Kaura, President of Chairman’s Office at Vedanta Resources plc., was named interim Chief Executive Officer of Vedanta after Thomas Albanese stepped down as CEO on Thursday.
A former Managing Director and CEO of ACC, Kaura, 69, has extensive knowledge and experience of Vedanta’s operations having served with Sterlite Industries and Konkola Copper Mines plc.
Navin Agarwal, Chairman, Vedanta, said Kaura will ensure a smooth transition as the company identifies a permanent CEO. Kaura said that he will continue to deliver on the strategy focussed on production growth, cash generation and deleveraging.
