Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) has become the top coal producer in the country with output in 2015-16 at 138 million tonnes. In a statement MCL, a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd, said the performance contributed 39 per cent to the "incremental growth" of CIL.
MCL supplied 140.22 million tonnes of fuel to its consumers, registering a growth of 14 per cent compared with the same period in the previous financial year.
