Promoters of GOCL Corporation Limited, formerly Gulf Oil Corporation Limited, have increased their stake in the company from 68.64 per cent to 69.87 per cent (70 per cent) by acquiring shares from the open market.

In a regulatory filing to the BSE, Hinduja Power Limited, Mauritius, and the promoters group, have informed that they acquired 6,11,800 shares amounting to 1.23 per cent from the open market, taking its total holding up to 3,46,38,445 shares of 69.87 per cent in the company.

The promoters had recently hiked their holding from about 65 per cent to close to 70 per cent by acquiring shares from the open market in BSE and NSE.

Following the acquisition of the new shares last week, the promoters now have 4,95,72,490 equity shares of Rs 2 each aggregating Rs 9,91,44,980.

The Hyderabad-based company shares were trading at Rs 144.10, down one per cent at BSE today.
