Samsung Electronics is eying a revenue of nearly Rs 400 crore from the sale of its consumer electronics and home appliance products in the eastern region during the festive season (September to November).

“We are looking at a 50 per cent growth in revenues to Rs 400 crore between September and November. Sixty per cent of the revenues will be from premium products,” Atul Jain, Senior Vice-President, CE Division, Samsung Electronics said.

He was speaking on the sidelines of the launch of the company’s new range of premium television sets, ACs, and refrigerators here, keeping in mind the festive season.

Samsung, he said, has reported sales of Rs 250 crore during Onam in Kerala.

Consumer electronics include TV sets, refrigerators, air-conditioners, washing machines and microwaves. Nearly 35 per cent of Samsung’s overall turnover comes from the consumer electronics division.

Samsung had in 2012 (it follows a calendar year) reported a turnover of Rs 27,000 crore.

According to Jain, the company has announced a 2-3 per cent hike in prices in September following rupee depreciation. He, however, refused to comment on the impact of price rise on sale of appliances.
