Drug firm Sanofi India today reported 16.93 per cent rise in its standalone net profit to Rs 72.5 crore for the third quarter ended September 30, 2015. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 62 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

Standalone total income from operations also rose to Rs 585.8 crore for the quarter under consideration as against Rs 514.9 crore for the same period a year ago.

The company follows January—December as financial year.

In another filing to BSE, Sanofi India said its Board has re-appointed Shailesh Ayyangar as Managing Director of the company for a further term of five years from October 25, 2015.

Shares of Sanofi India today closed 2.03 per cent up at Rs 4,009.60 on the BSE.
