Trying to become the Uber for chartered aircrafts, luxury travel company Baron Aviation on Monday launched an app, BookMyCharters, to instantly book a private jet to travel anywhere within the country.
Baron has partnered with 12 chartered aircraft operators to offer 40 aircrafts to begin with. It will gradually scale up the number of operators to try and get all the 150-odd private jet operators nationwide.
“BookMyCharters management believes that it will be able to migrate 30-40 per cent of the current air charter users to the platform within the first year of its operations.
“It also expects to grow the existing market by 30 per cent, bringing in new customers, especially from non-metros, and international travellers who can now book and pay online,” said Rajeev Wadhwa, Chairman and CEO of Baron Aviation.
