When it comes to Asia’s fastest growing cloud telephony player, it’s worth asking if there’s any business that Knowlarity cannot impact. Founder and CEO Ambarish Gupta said early last year that the company would add 10,000 new customers by the end of FY 2015 and hit a total of 16,000 clients. Knowlarity reveals now that it has over 12000 businesses using one of its flagship products, Super Receptionist.
While taking the app route a quarter ago with Super Receptionist, the Singapore-headquartered Indian start-up recently also forayed into the Philippines market. Meanwhile in India, spanning metros and non-metros, Knowlarity serves many small to medium businesses across categories like jewellery, travel and hospitality, transport, technology, healthcare and pharmacy, and even non-profits.
Cloud Power If Knowlarity sees itself as pioneer, leveraging cloud technology early was what got it there. A simple way of understanding the impact: the call centres of many businesses are potentially more nimble. Going by the features that just Super Receptionist alone sports, Knowlarity’s clients enjoy those ranging from business health indicator, call analytics, customer location tracking, click–to-call and a lot more. This means efficient marketing, and arguably, that customer issues can be addressed faster.
“Our system has been tested to the extreme,” declares Gupta. With clients across India and 65 other countries, Knowlarity claims its flagship products SmartIVR and Super Receptionist can process over a million calls an hour.
One way Knowlarity was tested was when it set out to transform key client ZipDial’s business. ZipDial, we can’t forget, not too long ago first showcased the value and impact of ‘missed-call marketing’ in India. Many large brands now employ the tactic. Knowlarity’s solutions helped scale up ZipDial’s mobile marketing and analytics platform.
Knowlarity’s Gupta explains, “When we first started getting millions of missed calls, we were able to gear up for huge volumes. Our platform became robust, and we helped ZipDial get lightweight.”
And Finally, The App In June this year, Knowlarity’s Super Receptionist offering became available as a mobile app. This is likely to further make the lives of small business owners easier, especially those that are always on the move. The Android application is available as a free download on the Google Play Store. The app includes a lifetime subscription and business phone number at no cost along with a few minutes of full service.
Gupta says, “Our product worked well on telephony and going mobile wasn’t urgent. When we decided to introduce the app, we were working on adding a bunch of other features that meant going mobile made sense.”
One of the key advantages now for businesses is that besides viewing call records on their business mobile phones, they can also track leads. “It reduces downtime and means rapid access to customer information”, Gupta adds.
While continuing to add markets in Asia, Knowlarity has plans to enter others like South Africa. The company reports more than 80% renewal rates on client subscriptions.
