The Delhi High Court has asked the Centre to expedite the appointment of the Presiding Officer of the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT). The Court directed the Additional Solicitor General Rajeeve Mehra to inform it on what steps were being taken to select the Presiding Officer of SAT, on the next adjourned date. The order was in response to the petition filed by Manmeet Kaur questioning the delay in the appointment. The post has been lying vacant since November 28, 2011.
